The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Agoncillo issues this statement in response to concerns raised regarding the results of Mutya ng Agoncillo 2026.
In all our official activities and events, we make certain to carefully choose judges who share the same values of Magandang Agoncillo, especially INTEGRITY. To further safeguard the credibility of the competition, the selection of judges was kept confidential prior to the event. This measure was intentionally adopted to preserve the independence of the panel and maintain the integrity of the judging process.
We also strive to eliminate bias or prejudice by selecting various spectrum as to the judges’ gender, age, professional skills and geography. They are all professionals and respected in their fields.
The scores they give were directly encoded in the tablets provided. The only intervention of the STI tabulators was to print the results.
There was just a whisker’s difference between the top two contenders.
The views and opinions of LGU officials and employees in their respective personal SocMed accounts are but expressions purely personal to them, and guaranteed by free speech in democracy. Nonetheless, we apologize if these have caused confusion.
However, in no way do they reflect the official perspective of the LGU.
